SCHOOL OF DANCE

The Faculty of Indian Dance, an important wing of the Academy imparts training mainly in Bharatnatyam and Kathak form of dance..

Kathak

The 12 year course syllabus is as follows:

1) Foundation - Three years
2) Madhyama - Three years
3) Kushal - Three years
4) Parangat- Three years

After completion of the Parangat course in theory & practical, students give a Manch Pradarshan (stage performance), before audience as a part of their examinations.

On completion of the course, diplomas are awarded to successful students.

Bharatnatyam

The 9 year course syllabus is as follows :

1) Foundation - Three years
2) Madhayama - Three years
3) Kushal - Three years

Annual examinations are conducted in theory & practical.

Lecturers in Bharatnatyam  :

(1) Shri Pulin Goswami
(2) Smt. Kshitija Barve

Lecturers are accompanied on Tabla or  Mridingam while teaching.

The classes are held in two sessions - morning & evening. The students are required to attend the class three days in a week.

The Academy also conducts workshops, and seminars  to promote greater interest in dance among students.

Monthly concerts are conducted by  promising students to provide exposure and encouragement.
