The Rangmell Repertory Company of Kala Academy of Goa was established in 1992 to address a long felt need of professional theatre in Goa. It provides professional theatrical experience and a platform to the graduates of Kala Academy's School of Drama as well as thetre entusiasts of the state. It functions as the leading light in the culturally rich heritage of Goa by regularly staging plays of very high standards in terms of content, presentation and production values.
Rangmell has so far produced 24 plays in Konkani, Marathi and Hindi languages in pursuit of its objectives making its presence felt all over Goa and also outside. Rangmell plays have been staged in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Kerala, Karnataka and even in Delhi. Special efforts are made by the Academy to take this rich theatrical tradition to the less fortunate people who live in far-flung villages and smaller towns, who are normally denied such artistic pleasures.
