Pernem is the northern most taluka in the state of Goa. It is among a few talukas which is situated on the banks of the Arabian Sea. This taluka has a few beaches that are famous not only among tourists coming to Goa from other parts of India but also among those who travel the world. Arambol beach is one of the famous beaches in this taluka. Also, the Tiracol fort is another attraction which speaks of the Goan past. There are many traditions that are strictly followed and many festivals being celebrated by the villagers of this taluka.
