(1) This is a three year course which will be of a specialized nature. The first year would be of an integrated nature and the second and the third years would be a specialization either in Acting or Production.However the course is being re-structured from the year 2006-07. (2) Classical/Traditional Indian Drama : Study of the Natyashastra, history and development of Sanskrit drama. Reading and analysis of about 10 plays. (3) Modern Indian Drama : Growth and development of drama in Modern Indian languages. Reading and analysis of about 10 plays. (4) Western Drama : History of Western Drama, right from the Greek to the contemporary drama. Reading and analysis of about 10 plays. (5) Theatre
Techniques :
Various subjects like
Theatre Architecture, Scenic Design, Costume Design, Lighting, Make-Up
would be taught. Under these headings, there will be scope to study many
things, right from the architectural aspect of the Greek or the
Elizabethean or the Natyagriha of the Sanskrit theatre, drafting and
designing sets or costumes, lights to applying make - up.

Apart from the resident staff, there exists a host of visiting faculty, comprising of eminent theatre personalities.
Admission is open to all men and women between the age group of 20 to 30 years . Total seats being 13 for students having domicile in Goa and 2 for students from other States. In case of sufficient number of meritorious students are not available in any one category then, admission may be given to meritorious students from other category. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Standard XII pass in any stream . In an exceptional cases the selection committee will relax the conditions. All applications must be accompanied by duly attested Xerox copies of the testimonials and certificates mentioned, along with three recent, passport size photographs. Original certificates, etc, should be produced at the time of the interview.
INTERVIEW : The selection test will include - a) A written test A list of
selected candidates will be placed on the notice board after two days of the
interviews. The same also will be informed to the candidates individually
by post. If a student is found unsuitable for such a course i.e. (a) Irregular attendance; |
